Supermodel Veronica Webb shares her thoughts on aging. She suggests that we first transform our mindset.
One way she says to do that is to seek a healthy body rather than youthful perfection and beauty will follow.
Defensins are the difference in DefenAge Skincare.
Defensins are anti-aging molecules that naturally awaken dormant skin cells and spark a wound-healing response to create new skin.
Follow these simple tips for best results with DefenAge:
Here we are with our favorite skincare products.
Adriana (far left) uses Obagi foaming gel cleanser. She says it leaves your face so clean and smooth. No dryness after washing. Your skin feels moisturized and soft.
Mylene (second to left) loves Skinbetter’s AlphaRet overnight face cream. It delivers all the retinoid benefits without irritation.
I’m holding biopelle’s Tensage Intensive serum 50 which contains growth factors that repair skin damage. I also like to use it on my patients, post treatment, to take away redness or irritation, for example, after a CoolPeel CO2 laser treatment.
Jill (far right) recommends emepelle’s serum for estrogen deficient skin. Just one pump daily can turn the clock back on your skin, by restoring some of what menopause takes away.
With time I have noticed that my skin did not respond to treatments as well as it did in the past. My moisturizer was not working as well and my laser treatments were not giving me the boost that I saw 5 years ago.
The reason for this is a decrease in hormones. As estrogen decreased, my skin was losing collagen at an exponential rate.
For women like me, finally there is a scientific breakthrough that is very different than any other anti-aging skincare product.
Emepelle is not a hormone or hormone replacement. Rather it’s a technology that targets estrogen deficient skin to restore the features of our skin before menopause.
After 3 weeks of using emepelle twice a day, my skin was more luminous, smoother and firmer.
I had mild irritation during the first few days that was easy to tolerate. I thought of it as “out with the old.” Within a few more days I was very happy to see the more youthful look and feel of my skin.
Emepelle is the first product that addresses the cause of accelerated aging seen in women like myself. After my good experience with it, now I’m offering it to my patients.
It is recommended for women with estrogen deficient skin—if you are perimenopausal, currently in menopause or you are postmenopausal.
One of my patients was telling me about the good results she got from one of the ISDIN products we carry: ISDIN Flavo-C Ultraglican. Since she also had suggestions about how to use that product, that she learned by trial and error, I asked her to write a review and share her tips for using the Vitamin C ampoules.
When Dr. Golomb recommended I try the ISDIN Flavo-C Ultraglican ampoules I jumped at the chance. I’ve been reading about the benefits of Vitamin C serums for years but never made it part of my skincare routine.
I have very fair skin and I’ve read that layering an antioxidant like Vitamin C under your sunscreen provides extra protection from sun damage that causes wrinkles or crepey skin. Another Vitamin C benefit I was interested in was to stop more dark, pigmented spots from appearing on my face.
My research also indicated the problem with Vitamin C is that it is unstable when exposed to light and air. The delivery method of this product ensures that isn’t an issue. You get a box of 30 dark glass ampoules. You use ½ of an ampoule once a day, emptying the ampoule completely within 24 hours.
When you open an ampoule and apply it to your face the first thing you’ll notice is a light, floral fragrance that dissipates quickly. I love the smell. It’s like a little pick me up in the morning. The product is not greasy and easily absorbs into the skin as you massage it into your face, neck and chest. The first thing I started to notice after using the product is that my skin looks and feels smoother. My brown spots are less noticeable too. I’ve been using the product for four months.
So now that I’m a Vitamin C serum convert, I will admit that this particular product is a little more work to use than others. Here are my tips for not wasting a drop.
This product, like many other Vitamin C serums, includes a form of Vitamin E (Tocopherol) that increases the potency. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant that helps to prevent sun damage from UV rays. It softens the skin and smooths the appearance of wrinkles. Additionally, it is a preservative for the other oils in the serum.
I’ve learned that both Vitamins C and E reduce skin inflammation, which I appreciate because I have rosacea.
