Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to treat a variety of skin issues and reveal healthy, glowing skin. Once those dead skin cells are removed, the cells below now get to work making more collagen and hyaluronic acid, the elements of more youthful skin. An added benefit of peeling away that top layer? Your skincare products penetrate deeper and are more effective.

We offer a variety of peels with strengths from mild, moderate, to strong. The cost ranges from $100 to $350. There are many peels that are also safe for skin of color.

Hetter Peel
Designed for moderately photodamaged skin, a Hetter Peel can produce stunning results with little cost. It is especially effective on lipstick lines above the mouth. A Hetter Peel addresses texture, wrinkles and pigmentation. It is an option that produces CO2 laser-type results, with similar downtime, but costs much less.
VI Peels
Here’s a fan of our VI Peels.
The top photo of our patient was taken two days after the procedure. The second photo is three days after. What a difference a day makes!
If you have sensitive skin, we also have VI Peels just for you.
There are five different VI Peels to choose from!
Plan Ahead for a Peel
Immediately after a peel, you’ll be asked not to wash your face or get it wet for 12 to 24 hours.
You also must stay out of the sun because your skin will burn more easily (and why would you want to redo all the damage you just removed?!)
If you don’t already, now is the time to apply sunscreen to your face daily. Immediately after treatment wear a hat and sunglasses.
You may also be asked not to wear makeup for a while. For one week after, stick with a gentle cleanser and also use a gentle moisturizer like Avene’s Cicalfate Recovery Cream (we carry this in the office or you can order it from our online Avene store). Do not use any skincare with exfoliating ingredients like a retinoid (Tretinoin), over-the-counter retinol, gylcolic acid, etc. Take it easy on those busy skin cells.
Yes, your skin will slough off just as pictured. Your job is to NOT touch it. Do not peel it, do not scrub it or exfoliate it. Picking at the peeling skin risks infection and scarring.
Chemical Peel results comparable to Fraxel Laser
One day after a strong chemical peel. Yes, I know it’s a bit scary because that’s me [Dr. Golomb]! But how can I recommend it to my patients if I haven’t tried it and experienced the after effects?
All of these photos are from one day after the SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel. On the photos where you don’t see red, ISDIN Skin Drops are camouflaging the work of the peel with full coverage. My face was reddish brown for at least three days. The peeling started on day three and continued through day seven, with light flaking lasting one month.
I had resolution of my sun spots. My skin has a smoother, more youthful appearance and a radiant glow that has lasted more than six months.
The results were amazing and in my judgment are as good as a Fraxel laser treatment at less than one third the cost.
SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel contains three key ingredients:
- resorcinol which reduces the appearance of discoloration and improves skin tone and radiance
- salicylic acid which is a beta hydroxy acid that improves signs of discoloration and photodamage
- lactic acid exfoliates the surface of the skin for improved radiance
Chemical peels treat a variety of skin issues. Consider a chemical peel for a cost effective way to get significant results. Incorporating professional peels into your skincare regimen on a regular basis can address fine lines, acne, large pores and uneven skin tone.
