Ablative Lasers for Laser Skin Resurfacing
Ablative lasers are the strongest option. They remove the outer layer of skin to “resurface” it, producing dramatic improvements in wrinkles, texture, scarring, and pigmentation. Sun damage often causes lines and wrinkles that fillers can’t correct — this is where fractional laser resurfacing shines.
UltraClear® Cold Fiber (2910nm)
This cold ablative fractional laser optimizes energy delivery without excessive heat damage – targeting deep layers while preserving the skin’s surface. UltraClear treatments also have less downtime than traditional lasers. It is also safe for a wide range of skin tones.
What it treats: Fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, pigmentation, age spots, sun damage, surgical and acne scars

Dr. Golomb can create a treatment plan for every age and skin type with six different treatment levels, including superficial, moderate or advanced, depending on your desired results. A specialty option, Laser-Coring™, delivers quick laser pulses to remove micro-channels of skin.
What to expect: Numbing cream is applied before your procedure. Depending on your treatment level, anesthetic injections may also be used. Immediately afterward, you will feel a warm sunburn sensation and swelling. Some patients might have transient pinpoint bleeding. Other reactions may include irritation and itching. SmartXide Tetra CO2 (10,600nm)
Our CO2 fractional laser delivers the skin-renewing results of traditional CO2 resurfacing without the lingering heat that damages surrounding skin. Unlike older CO2 systems, the SmartXide carries minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation, or infection. The result: healthier, younger-looking skin with significantly less downtime.

What it treats: Fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, large pores, uneven skin texture and tone
Two treatment settings:
- Heavy CO2: Full resurfacing for deeper wrinkles and more significant sun damage, particularly around the mouth (lipstick lines, smile lines). Plan for 3–5 days of redness and downtime as the skin heals.
- CoolPeel® (lighter setting): A less dense, lower-energy treatment targeting crow’s feet, lipstick lines, smile lines, and pore size. Recovers more quickly, though multiple sessions may be needed.
What to expect: Numbing cream is applied before the procedure. A full-face treatment takes about 15-20 minutes. After the lighter CoolPeel, expect a sunburn-like appearance for a day or two. After a heavier treatment, skin may feel dry or scaly as it heals. We’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions and guidance on when to resume your normal skincare routine.

Non-Ablative Lasers for Laser Skin Resurfacing
Non-ablative lasers rejuvenate the skin without the downtime of an ablative treatment. A series of sessions is typically needed to see optimal results, but for many patients, the tradeoff is worth it.
LaseMD Ultra (1927nm Thulium)
The LaseMD Ultra is a fractional laser that hits the sweet spot between too strong and too mild — the Goldilocks treatment. It’s also safe for all skin types, including patients with darker skin tones.

- Spider veins (which visibly disappear during treatment)
- Brown spots from sun damage (poikiloderma)

Brown spots treated with the excel V can return with sun exposure and daily environmental factors, so maintenance with a good skincare routine is essential after treatment.
Note: After an excel V treatment for poikiloderma (red/brown discoloration on the neck), some patients experience a temporary hive reaction, which is easily treated with an antihistamine and resolves within a day or two.
